Length of activism
[edit]I have edited the existing page to correct factual errors. Barb Tarbox only became an anti-smoking activist during the last few months of her life. The original page implied that she had been an anti-smoking activist for a very long time, which is false.
Smoking all bad?
[edit]Isn't it kinda wrong to assume that all aspects of smoking are bad? Qualified properly, the statements in this article would certainly be ok. Personally, a good cigar really helps me to relax and relieves stress. Plenty of people happily derive many intangible benefits from smoking -- not everyone is a '3-Pack a day' fiend like Barb Tarbox... though may she rest in peace, nonetheless.
- As a matter of fact, it is bad DONT YOU PEOPLE GET IT? GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS! YOUVE ONLY GOT ONE LIFE TO LIVE AND YOUR GONNA DESTROY IT BY SMOKING??!! ITF YOUR STILL SMOKING i want you to go up to your pack of smokes and BREACK THEM!! thank you ( in honor of barb tarbox) Friggin' Right!
- ^^ somebody get this guy a cigarette
Pseudonym?
[edit]Is Barb Tarbox her real name? The "Tarbox" seems to be a sarcastic reference to a pack of cigs. Plus Barb means a type of spike like barbed wire. this sounds like a tarbox covered in barbs. this sseems suspicious to me. Syrion 18:08, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- It was indeed her real(and incredibly ironic) name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.149.181.145 (talk) 00:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Being a model isn't enough
[edit]This line about smoking to be popular needs a reference or removal... It also downplays the chemical addiction aspect of smoking.
From albertaquits.ca : "Barb Tarbox started smoking in grade 7. She thought the occasional stolen cigarette from her mother’s purse would make her look cool, and that it would help her make new friends. Two years later, Barb was up to a pack a day." Im new to this so not comfortable editing the actual page to include link
