It was *not* an Electoral "Regulation"(which would come from the Executive) but rather was a breach of S55(1) of the Electoral Act 1993, a statute (from the legislature).

Loss of seat

There is no doubt that Duynhoven lost his seat in 2003 as a result of applying for Dutch citizenship. The Solicitor Generals opinion is clear. It is only Labor Party partisans who suggest otherwise. I have tried to tidy up the article - which was clearly written by Labour Party supporters.203.80.61.102 (talk) 04:27, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citation Needed

Due to a conflict I am unable to edit this article. However, I can provide two citations about the Act which was passed, it was the Electoral (Vacancies) Amendment Act 2003 (itself a citation). Additionally there is the following article on the topic:
