[edit]As John Trenchard (Secretary of State) and John Trenchard (writer) were earlier mixed as one person and one article, I'm not sure which one of them was a member of parliament for Taunton. If somebody knows or is able to check, please confirm or correct.
This sentence seems unclear to me:
His works include A Short History of Standing Armies in England 1698 and 1731 and The Natural History of Superstition 1709.
If he died in 1723, "John Trenchard (1662–1723)", the publication date of his first book should be explained.
I have no knowledge of the subject. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.80.147.138 (talk) 23:45, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Anne Blackett (d.1783), Mrs John Trenchard, Later Mrs Thomas Gordon ???
