Symptoms vs. signs ?

Why does the table have separate columns for "symptoms" and "signs" -- I don't see any difference. I suggest to merge them into one list, "symptoms". Peteruetz (talk) 01:13, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Symptoms are subjective, which means patient's experience while signs are objective, which means they are part of physical exam. patient vs physicians perspective. So they should stay separate 76.247.118.130 (talk) 23:31, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Revert discussion

User:Jfdwolff, your revert [1] requires discussion per WP:BRD. What precisely is your concern about WP:MEDRS? If it's WP:NOABSTRACT, then how about we WP:FIXTHEPROBLEM by citing the full paper? --Slhfbvladjhvb (talk) 07:18, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I justified my revert because the source does not meet the criteria from WP:MEDRS. It is not a secondary source, it is absolutely ancient (28 years) and I have not seen bulimia mentioned in any of the key sources. I therefore remain opposed to the inclusion of bulimia nervosa in the list of causes. JFW | T@lk 12:15, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jfdwolff, the paper is from Biological Psychiatry, a scientific journal with its own website here [2]. It also has its own Wiki here: Biological Psychiatry (journal), where it is described as a "biweekly, peer-reviewed, scientific journal of psychiatric neuroscience and therapeutics, published by Elsevier since 1985 on behalf of the Society of Biological Psychiatry, of which it is the official journal". How is that not a WP:SECONDARY source? Also, the paper is entitled "Thyroid function in Bulimia nervosa" - how can you not see that bulimia is mentioned? -SLH (talk) 01:08, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So we are now at cross-purposes. I see you just updated your user page to show you've been working here for over 15 years. That's helpful, and a prompt to update mine with the information that I've been working here for over 10 years, on my main account. I mention this because (i) I greatly appreciate your experience and (ii) I would like to assure you that I'm not an ignorant newcomer. I'm also going to state here with honesty that I find the content and tone of your communication puzzling - to the point that this is an impasse. <60 means less than 60.
