major signs of Judgement Day
[edit]@Grabup:
I had deleted last two "major signs of Judgement Day" in article here, with edit summary: (deleting two major signs which i could not find in either sunni nor shia sources.)
Here is what I deleted:
- The first blow of the trumpet will sound and all humans and animals will fall dead
- The second blow of the trumpet will be sounded, the dead will return to life, and a fire will come out of Yemen that shall gather all to Mahshar Al Qiy'amah (The Gathering for Judgment).[1]
User:Grabup reverted my edit here, with edit summary:(Undid revision 1083175068 by Louis P. Boog (talk) For these 2 sings [sic] you don't have to go to any sect of islam just go to Quran which is accepted by every sect. Here are the sources : "https://quran.com/39/68" "https://quran.com/27/87" "https://quran.com/18/99" Hope you satisfied.)
Problem: Yes, the events are mentioned in the Quran. Yes, they are important part of eschatology and should be included in the article. But the Quran does not say they are "major signs of the coming of Judgement Day", which is a term, a category Islamic scholars created. Numerous Islamic sources talk about the "major signs". I could find none that mention trumpet blasts. This could be because the blasts are considered part of Judgement Day not signs of it. In any case we cannot decide for ourselves what is a major sign and what isn't we have to use WP:RS. --Louis P. Boog (talk) 18:54, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Louis P. Boog Read these articles 1, 2, 3 | Quran does not quote that, but the things which are mentioned in the Quran and Hadith will happen before the Judgement day those things all are considered as the Major Signs of the Judgement Day. All the signs will be considered as the Major signs after the Minor sign comes and that is the sign of the appearance of Mahdi. Grabup (talk) 10:32, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Islam Q&A is not a reliable source except for on Salafi interpretations. However, the other two links confirm what @Louis P. Boog has already said - these are not signs of judgement day, but part of it. The trumpet blasts do not precede judgment day but announce its start, on the day. - @Iskandar323@Louis P. Boog, Also, read this hadith before making any decision 1. I reverted the edit because of his comment (deleting two major signs which i could not find in either sunni nor shia sources) which I meant that he was talking about the existence of the consept. - @Grabup: None of your articles or hadith above use the phrase "major signs". That is the issue at hand. The trumpet blasts will be mentioned in the article but not as "major signs" of the coming of Judgement Day. --Louis P. Boog (talk) 18:18, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Major rewrite
[edit]Have been attempting for some week to rewrite this article. Have summarized parts of the article that have now been forked off to other articles, namely Judgement Day in Islam and Signs of the coming of Judgement Day. Yes, there is no long list of the major or minor signs any more. Look for them at Signs of the coming of Judgement Day.
So User talk:UtkarshMehta09, that is why I reverted your edit undoing everything I've been working on. --Louis P. Boog (talk) 02:15, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
Rewrite more or less done. Have restructured the article to summarized Signs of coming of Judgement Day and Judgement Day in Islam (which have their own articles of course) and expanded the theological/doctrinal questions part. --Louis P. Boog (talk) 12:50, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- It looks like this page needs more rewriting—there's lot of evidence of non-NPOV, and many of the sources are just apologetic. J F-T (talk) 18:28, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
the thing about alexander(escandar)
[edit]i think it is a misunderstanding or something. because we dont have something like that in persian/farsi history or persian Islamic texts. (in shia/persian we believe that there were some person named zul-gharnain who did that and we refer zul-gharnain to cyrus the Achaemenid emperor) 5.74.98.151 (talk) 13:02, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Timelines
[edit]What is it with all these timelines in the article? Is there anything backing it up? Linear timeline is rather a modern phenomena. How much this is compatible with Islamic teachings can be disputed, especially since Orthodoxy is Occacunalistic. The problems with projecting linear timelines on Islamic eschatology has also been criticized by CHristian Lange who did extensive research on Islamic eschatology.
