Revocation of citizenship, Monaco
[edit]http://www.eringer33.com/2010/12/newest-monegasque-citizen-steve-wynn.html via Cryptome: Monday, December 27, 2010 Eringer is reporting that Steve "may" have changed his citizenship to Monaco - presumably revoking US citizenship. I don't know if Eringer is considered of sufficient repute on Wikipedia, so I didn't put it on the main page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.88.7.216 (talk) 09:34, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Opening comment
[edit]RE: Wynn changing his name. His father Michael changed the family name from "Weinberg" to "Wynn" in 1936, before Wynn was born. Steve Wynn was always Steve Wynn.
[Not true, it was changed, according to Wynn himself, when he was 6 months old] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.14.62.4 (talk) 02:51, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Be that as it may, the article still has a huge conflict.
If Steve Wynn was born January 27, 1942 as stated in the first paragraph, then how can this paragraph (the first sentence in the section entitled "Early life, Frontier, and the Golden Nugget") be true:
"His father, Michael, changed the family's last name in 1946 from "Weinberg" to "Wynn" when Steve was six months old "to avoid anti-Jewish discrimination" according to several sources." — Preceding unsigned comment added by ObadiahKatz (talk • contribs) 05:41, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
Where was he raised?
[edit]He was born in Conn, however, he was raised in Utica, NY. Mike09051 20:36, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Where does he live?
[edit]The article says, Steve Wynn currently lives with his wife in a mansion in the Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV. (It said "house" until the most recent edit.) But I'd heard he was going to live in the penthouse at Wynn Las Vegas. Did that not happen? --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 05:32, 13 April 2006 (UTC) I would like an address?? I have a huge complaint!!71.104.31.92 21:32, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
I'm almost positive he lives in Manhattan. User talk:Beepoppab — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.246.136.123 (talk) 18:39, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Other
[edit]The article about Le Rêve cites a six inch tear in the painting due to Wynn's arm going through it, while the end of Wynn's page cites a two inch tear. MKBedosky 20:57, 16 December 2006 (UTC)MKBedosky
- The article has two inconsistent accounts of Le Rêve, which need to be reconciled and checked with primary sources. The facts don't agree about how money he paid, was hoping to or the current statet of the transaction. Modus Vivendi 09:19, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
There is much repetition where marked -- two discussions about his collection and the tear in the Picasso. Not entirely consistent, as noted above.Btrauman 18:18, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
I can't find any verification regarding the comment about Steve Wynn firing those employees that gave him the ransom money. Why should it remain in there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobma46 (talk • contribs) 19:46, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
photo of wynn
[edit]Does anyone have a good photo of Wynn available? It's kind of odd to not have one on his biography. 24.124.29.130 08:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Why can't one of these from Google (Images) be used?

Steve's name
[edit]I know for a fact he does not open personal mail addressed to Stephen Wynn, only Steve or Steven. I believe his name is actually Steven Wynn. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.44.61.96 (talk • contribs)
- So shouldn't ALL places where his name appears be 'Steve' or 'Steven'? The article title says 'Steve', but the picture super-caption and the article's first paragraph BOTH use 'Stephen'. At about the third paragraph 'Steven' shows up again. (???) I'll change all to the spelling using 'v' instead of 'ph'; anyone disagreeing can comment.

Education
[edit]Steve Wynn attended the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, not the Wharton School. The Wharton school teaches business. It says here that he studied English Literature. That is a major in the School of Arts and Sciences. Does anyone oppose to this change? Slinkynml 01:46, 4 September 2007 (UTC)slinkynml
Disambiguation
[edit]There is another Steve Wynn, a songwriter. The disambiguation link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Wynn) should be added on both pages raphy 08:07, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Good gosh, why would we want that poor picture of some Indianapolis developer, oh, wait, Wynn's in it too, but so what? This thing isn't usable in this article until it's cropped. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 05:59, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, which is why I followed up your revert with my own after it got put back in. Keep the current image until a more useful (and more aesthetic) pic of Wynn is available. Doc Tropics 06:06, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Move to Stephen Wynn
[edit]This article should be moved to Stephen Wynn. His first name is spelled as Stephen, according to Wynn Resorts Corporate website B64 (talk) 03:27, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose - The source cited in the move request only establishes what his official/legal name is. What's relevant for the article title is the name most commonly used to refer to him. As far as I know, that's Steve Wynn, as currently reflected in the title (disambiguated as necessary). Unless there is evidence showing that he is more commonly known as Stephen Wynn, this article should not be moved. --Born2cycle (talk) 21:29, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose since the current title is the most common name. Even the NYT index page uses both. The only reason that moving could be justified is that it avoids disambiguation. I will consider that if there are any arguments made to favor that as a reason. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:17, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
