Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
What is patent nonsense?
[edit]I suggest giving Wikipedia:Patent nonsense a read, before marking any other articles for speedy deletion. The only criteria for patent nonsense is whether the text is unredeemable jibberish. -- Netoholic @ 03:42, 2004 Sep 25 (UTC)
That was created by an anon IP. Sometimes it is more a matter of the writer not being a strong English speaker. One thing you can do to see if a "random" looking article is related to something else is to use the "What links here" link. -- Netoholic @ 04:04, 2004 Sep 25 (UTC)
Are you certain this has been released under the GDFL? J Milburn 11:51, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Do you have a link to the copyright holder stating that it has been? Are you the copyright holder? How do you know? J Milburn 17:33, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- The Cruxshadows own the copyright to the image. I asked Rogue to release it under the GFDL so it could be used on Wikipedia, and he did. Zwilson 17:38, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, that's great. Would you mind specifying that on the image page? Thanks. J Milburn 17:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- It already says so in the file history (Promotional photo - Copyright 2006, The Crüxshadows. Released under the GFDL by The Crüxshadows.) - would you like me to add a separate note on the image page?

Image copyright problem with Image:Rogue-CXS.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Rogue-CXS.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 17:38, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Cruxshadowsinstudio2007.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cruxshadowsinstudio2007.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 11:01, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Mailinator
[edit]The article Mailinator has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This article does not appear notable enough and lack suffice references.
I find a few reliable sources on this and not much beyond a few mentions anywhere else. It is appears to be written from a promotional tone and may have been used as a soapbox. There has been several templates which have been in this article for some time and there appears that no improvements have been made to this article to date.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. FockeWulf FW 190 (talk) 22:02, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
