I did a google search for "flood" + "1456" without finding any likely candidates. I'm moving the claim here to talk until we at least can say "according to...". -- Infrogmation 04:11 Nov 8, 2002 (UTC)

A massive tsunami that originated in the Gulf of Mexico in late January or early February 1456 BC. Called the Flood of Deucalion by the Greeks. Characterized by thick dust cloud that drifted across northern Africa and Eqypt. Decimated Yucatan Peninsula, Mississippi Valley, Florida. Innundated most of Baltic Sea coast.
