Wrong years?
[edit]Menzies had extended discussions with British experts on Germany in 1935-35?
I'm guessing this is a typo, right?
Edit warring regarding "Sir" in infobox
[edit]@120.16.165.238, Brunswicknic, 120.16.140.3, and 120.16.226.58: you both (all?) need to stop edit warring this article. Reverting back and forth won't get anything done. Please discuss the issue here instead. The relevant guideline here is helpfully named MOS:SIR. In general, when trying to find guidelines and policies, a good strategy is to search for MOS:
or WP:
plus a word related to the question you have. As far as I can tell it seems appropriate to include "Sir" in the infobox header, per this sentence in the MOS (emphasis mine): The honorific titles Sir, Dame, Lord and Lady are included in the initial reference and infobox heading for the subject of a biographical article, but are optional after that.

Brothers of Robert Menzies?
[edit]In the part of the article "Early life", it is said that Robert Menzies had two elder brothers and another younger one. But in the summary information under his photograph, high in the page at the right, only one brother is mentioned. Or..., are those only the ones with a wiki page?
Actually, my interest is about Evatt, reffered in a book as "the brother of the Australian prime minister", in the year 1958. My search so far only shows an Evatt who was a leader of the opposition. So I beginning to think that this book reference might be wrong.
Did Robert Menzies had a brother Evatt?

Nuclear blame-game escapism should be mentioned
[edit]By wikipedia's OWN listings of what was identified about Menzies if-not-also others, here, [1] , should be summarised and with a internal hyperlink.
It is a still significant part of early trust issues in relation to the liberal party. 120.21.18.142 (talk) 18:40, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Mingis
[edit]The Mingis pronunciation was favoured by Menzies, leading him to be known as "Ming the Merciless". There was also an ABC broadcaster known as Bruce Menzies (Mingis). The pronunciation is thus not unknown in Australia. Jack Upland (talk) 08:19, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- I stand corrected: you've helped me to remember Bruce Menzies. As for "Ming the Merciless", which I also remember, it's drawing a long bow to attribute it to the Scottish pronunciation. My father was a Scottish pedant, and he pronounced it Mingis and complained when people (invariably) said "Menzees", though I expect it was also because he hated Menzies's guts. So there's two people who used it. Conclusion: the pronunciation was exceptionally rare in Australia -- sufficient, I believe, to justify my changing the sequence. And it still is: refer to "Bob Mingis" nowadays and the only reaction you'll get is "Huh?". I would appreciate your restoring my edit. Cheers, Simon – SCHolar44 🇦🇺 💬 at 08:45, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- I disagree. "Ming the Merciless" is referring to the Mingis pronunciation.--Jack Upland (talk) 08:50, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

I would disagree with listing "Ming-is" as the primary pronunciation, this doesn't reflect the reality of how his name is actually pronounced. Should be a footnote at best. ITBF (talk) 09:55, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
