Holy balony.

  1. Cocaine and alcohol do not exist in sufficient concentration in the body for chemical compounds between the two of them to form.
  2. Interactions between drugs no not occur by the formation of new chemical compounds, but by the differeing physiological effects that they cause individually.
  3. Pure alcohol can be used for the recrystallization of cocaine.

Recreational drug?

[edit]

The article seems to refer to this metabolite as though it were available as a street drug. It was my understanding during my brief and rather elementary studies of pharmacology and behavioral neuroscience that this substance forms within the body itself while drinking ethyl alcohol and using cocaine, and the subsequent effects in terms of mood and myocardial oxygen demand are the result of combining those two substances, not from taking cocaethylene. Please correct me if I am wrong Quigonpaj (talk) 12:51, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do believe the quotations as in tests where users felt more euphoria with cocaethylene are from controlled, side-by-side experiments where cocaethylene was created independently and administered in comparative doses as with cocaine to find which was more subjectively euphoric on its own. Not through one user consuming alcohol with cocaine and another cocaine independent of alcohol. 184.76.53.217 (talk) 04:02, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
