Lost patent to Thomas Edison
[edit]The article does not mention a major issue. Berliner invented world's first carbon microphone and the same year Thomas Edison claims he invented one. Of course, Edison was more powerful so the u.S. patent court made Emile Berliner's patent VOID and the Edison version of the carbon microphone went down in the history books. PS: Remember Tesla had similar problems and many of his ideas were also stolen. --2604:2000:DDD1:4900:2034:8071:82B9:6C05 (talk) 16:30, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
Helicopter
[edit]In answer to 82.82.125.42's question "What's wrong about the helicopter invention? In deed it was Berliner who invented the first practical helicopter in the US." after I took out the addition "In [1919]] Berliner invented the world's first practical helicopter.":
The helicopter (like television) seems to have been an invention that many inventors had a hand in before it became practical, and atributing it entirely to one person seems too much of an overgeneralization. The helicopter is already mentioned in the Berliner article. While this point could certainly be expanded on, your version seems to be disputed by other sources. See, for example:

Which I have added as an external link at the bottom of the Helicopter article. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 03:36, 1 Nov 2003 (UTC)
What about Berliner's Canadian connection?
[edit]He lived in Montreal for a while and ran his major business from there in the 1900s. Take a look at the National Library of Canada's website.--Ibis3 14:20, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Rotary engine
[edit]The rotary engine was not invented by Berliner; he used at first adapted engines by Adams-Farwell. The first of them was built as an automobile engine by Fay Oliver Farwell in 1895.--Chief tin cloud (talk) 16:34, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
