Don't think that listing air companies for an airport is not much meaningful ?

Destinations

[edit]

What is the source confirming Glasgow and/or Bournemouth as easyjet destinations from Milan Malpensa? No such announcement has been made by either easyjet or the airport authorities. Deleted.

Alitalia hub?

[edit]
Malpensa is the main hub of Alitalia

Really? I can not think so. Alitalia was never able to use MXP as an hub. It always prefeared to concentrate fligh in Rome FCO. If you look at its timetable you will find the it is very rare that an Alitalia flight depart from Malpensa (except for a small numebr of big European destinations, and a vere very small long haul destination). For the most part of destinations Alitalia timetable says you have to change in Rome FCO, or take a flight that is operated by one allied airlines and change in Paris or in A,sterdam. Well, it's definitely a hub as shown by the destination list and as mentioned on Alitalia's website. Whether MXP or FCO is their primary hub/operations base, I don't know. Since the headquarters is in Rome, I'd assume the operations base is also there (it's also the first airport listed under hubs on the Alitalia corporate page). elevation

[edit]

Ciao!

The elevation of Malpensa is definitely not 24 m above sea level... According to this site it's 234 m: http://worldaerodata.com/wad.cgi?id=IT37883&sch=LIMC

I changed it but there are a few different values. Your link showed 234m, while http://www.landings.com/evird.acgi?pass=87017197&ref=-&mtd=41&cgi=%2Fcgi-bin%2Fnph-search_apt&var=13&buf=66&src=_landings%2Fpages%2Fsearch_apt.html&1=limc&5=&7=&8=&6=&9=&10=&max_ret=10&start_ret=1 shows 211m. I think one is measuring minimum elevation while the other is measuring maximum elevation on the field. I went ahead and changed it again to use your values as the maximum elevation is usually the value used for field elevation.63.246.176.247

Third runway

[edit]

From the 5th paragraph: "The third satellite (C) is under construction and a third runway is going to be built." Is there anyone that can confirm that a 3rd runway is going to be built? From what I know on this issue, there have only been debates over the possibility of eventually constructing a third runway. Radarino (talk) 08:51, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change

[edit]

Suggest changing the article name to Milan Malpensa Airport or simply Malpensa Airport. The word international is neither in its name nor is it commonly used.
