Ok. I removed the quote. The rest of the lead does summarize her career. I'm not sure what is inadequate about it but if you want to expand, go ahead. -Classicfilms (talk) 14:13, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The current lead is only one paragraph. This article is not small, and the lead is supposed to summarize the article as a whole -- the most significant portions of the article. This is what I mean by it currently lacking. I might give expanding it a shot. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 14:46, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Great! Hope you have a chance to work on the intro - and the whole article still needs a bit of work. It is potentially a GA but it isn't quite there yet. Maybe a peer review would help. I am not on the WP as much these days, but I'll check in to see how it develops. Cheers!-Classicfilms (talk) 17:32, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The second and third paragraphs of the lead are repetitive as they are in the body of the article. I feel the first paragraph does a good job of summarizing the article in its entirety. The second and third paragraphs are not needed in the lead. Starchild729 (talk) 16:14, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vanessa Williams → Vanessa Williams (Actress) – Vanessa A Williams talk page redirects discussion here. According to the actress Vanessa A Williams herself she does not use an A in her name in this is incorrect. See her comments from her Verified Twitter account here https://twitter.com/NessaWilliams/status/1233195839624925185. However both actresses were born in the same year and both actresses are singers. Currently Vanessa L Williams was redirected to Vanessa Williams. I hope Vanessa A Williams as Vanessa Williams (Actress) will differentiate the two entries but anything will work here, really. Yes, that is the issue. When going to the Vanessa A. Williams Talk page it refers back to this page as if there were an active discussion about it. The request isn't to move this page. If both have the name Vanessa Williams and both are actively using the name Vanessa Williams without middle initials, then how would one differentiate between the two? They're both Actresses. They're both Singers. They're also both born in the same year. RudeNotGinger (talk) 06:40, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy close, start a new discussion on the talk page of the article to be moved. There was a move discussion here nine years ago that also involved that page, but that doesn't mean the discussion has to take place here now. Those notifications don't get removed later on. You can start a new request at Talk:Vanessa A. Williams using the same templates you used here, as necessary. If there isn't a request to move this page, then this should be closed.
