Altdorf
[edit]<from User talk:Docu>
Hi Docu, why did you revert the changes I did to the Altdorf / Altdorf UR pages. I don't think it is right to redirect from Altdorf to Altdorf UR since Altdorf bei Nürnberg is much larger than Altdorf UR. Moreover, there were (and will continue to be) numerous erroneous links. Many biographical articles refer to people who studied or taught at the University of Altdorf (bei Nürnberg). Users tend to call the place just Altdorf and insert a link. These links will now point to Altdorf UR. Besides, there are a few more places in Germany and Switzerland called Altdorf. Adisambiguation page would make it much easier to find future articles linked to these places. Best regards --Thomas Ruefner 10:35, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Check out Wikipedia:How to rename (move) a page. If you still want to rename the article, you may want to move it to Altdorf, Switzerland instead. It's closer to the usual article titles in English. -- User:Docu
- I thought of this possibility, but did not use it: How should an article on the second Swiss Altdorf in the canton of Schaffhausen (see de:Altdorf SH) be named? In the German wikipedia, Altdorf (Schweiz) points to a (second) disambiguation page. Do you have a suggestion, how to solve this? Regards --Thomas Ruefner 09:45, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter that much, as the second Swiss Altdorf isn't important. It could easily be mentioned with "{ {otheruses ..}}" in the other article. BTW of all the places, only the one in Uri had made it into the Gutenberg Encyclopedia. -- User:Docu

- I moved the page the page now and completed the disambiguation page. Is it ok? -- User:Docu
- Yes, now everything is all right by me. --Thomas Ruefner 17:02, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
