This was a precursor

Internet sources on the 1941 Iraq coup d'etat
[edit]The internet sources quoted above should be used with care.
The Sparticus.schoolnet page for example contains the widely repeated allegation that Arthur Harris whilst an RAF officer in Iraq during the mandate made gas attacks on Iraqi civilians. No such gas attacks were made. Conventional attacks were made on rebellious tribes, after due warning had been given.
